Our Own State

It is a school movement initiated by our headmaster with the aim to engage students into school management and increase their responsibility towards school affairs. It is a new approach to school life which is supposed to lead to improving the relationships inside the school and outside of it. The movement gives students a chance to be leaders and make decisions about school life. Students are expected to be more active and creative during the process. The school works as a model of our republic, having the president (our headmaster), the prime minister (the Chairman of the Student Council), the government etc. Teachers act as councellors to the Secretaries of Education, Foreign affairs, Justice etc. The birth of Our Own State was officially declared on 24 February 2008, the 90th anniversary of Estonia.The President's reception, a ceremony and a concert followed and everybody present had a piece of the anniversary cake.
The following activities will be elections to the Parliament and passing several acts concerning school life as well as planning and carrying out activities at school. We hope the students will be eager to participate in the movement and it will help their life to be more interesting.
